London's Lorries

Much has been written about the capital's public transport system and the vehicles operated, but this volume represents the first attempt to detail the goods vehicles operated throughout the London area in the past. Using photographs created by his own camera, Arthur Ingram takes us on tour around London's roads and streets and presents a whole host of varied and interesting commercial vehicles from around the country which were to be found in the Capital city during the 50s & 60s. He reflects on the many varied haulage operations and allied transport undertakings that once were located all over the greater London area, reminding the reader of those glorious days. The photographs are, as ever, supported by substantial captions which reveal the author's full understanding of yesteryear's road transport scene.
