Isle of Man Road Services

2016 is the 40th anniversary of the formation of the Isle of Man National Transport when the Isle of Man's two bus fleets, Douglas Corporation Transport and Isle of Man Road Services, were amalgamated under government control. Having dealt with Douglas Corporation buses in a previous volume, this work features the famous 'red buses' of Isle of Man Road Services. Primarily operating outside Douglas, the Road Services' fleet was once a familiar sight on Manx roads and covered a comprehensive network of routes which reached all but the most remote corners of the Island. Always maintained in a smart and tidy condition, Road Services gave sterling service to the Isle of Man from the late 1920s until nationalisation in October 1976.Viewed with great affection by both residents and visitors to the Island.
